Knitters urgently required for Charity Clowns
Hope and Aid Direct need lots more knitted clowns to take on their regular convoys of aid to Kosovo. These are distributed to the poor children who have often never had a cuddly toy to love

Founded in 1999 Hope and Aid Direct is a 100% voluntary, humanitarian aid charity whose team members raise their own funds, obtain donations of aid, transport that aid in convoys of lorries twice a year, and give it out directly into the hands of the people who need it the most. The donations are made by the public, churches, clubs, schools and companies. The convoys often carry out humanitarian work whilst they are away. Hope and Aid Direct has been involved in projects such as rebuilding bombed schools, renovating orphanages, and delivering aid for third parties who would not be as welcome in some areas.   Registered UK Charity No. 1077146

Growing Care is a charity specifically promoting self sufficiency. This is being achieved by teaching deprived and poor youngsters the skills required to run a small holding. This knowledge can then be passed onto others who will be able to cultivate the land and care for livestock in their own small holding.
Hopefully, they will become completely self sufficient with excess goods to sell at market to help pay for other items they require. The first training centre is currently being set up at Siminoc in Romania.

Dylan was born on the 15th of December 2001.  At 10 months old he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.  During the next 14 months he spent most of his time in and out of hospital having chemotherapy and finally a bone marrow transplant.  Sadly, the transplant failed, Dylan left us on the 21st December 2003. THE DYLAN MASON MEMORIAL TRUST Registered Charity Number is 1109339. This charity will help other parents whose children are suffering from AML or Leukaemia. The money raised will go towards educating parents about this illness including treatment options. We will also help by making sure their stay in hospital is as comfortable as possible, providing the wards with electrical and recreation equipment and assisting parents and families to visit the children at their place of treatment. 01782 816 539   >>>Read More
